Yoshiyuki Yamashita is a professor and a chair of the Department of Chemical Engineering at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT) in Tokyo. His main areas of expertise include process monitoring and control, as well as artificial intelligence and smart manufacturing. He received his BS, MS and PhD degrees in chemical engineering all from Tohoku University (Sendai, Japan) and subsequently became an assistant professor and associate professor at Tohoku University before joining
