Dr. Enes is an associated researcher in lung biology with a specific focus on stem cells and their interactions with the microenvironment. During the recent years, her research focus has been on how the microenvironment affects the biology and function of stem cells and how this knowledge could be applied to improve cell therapy. In 2019, she was involved in putting together and leading a session on the topic “From 2D to 3D models of human lung disease: novel developments to rebuild the lung? for the large European Respiratory Society (ERS) annual congress. In addition, she was invited to write a landmark paper on bioartificial lungs.
