Born 1943. Educated Craig y nos preparatory school Swansea, Ellesmere College, St. John's College Cambridge and St. Thomas's Hospital London. Trained in neurosurgery at Queen Square London, Frenchay Hospital Bristol and the Manchester Royal Infirmary. Practised as a neurosurgeon in Bergen from 1979 to 1993 and again from 2007 to 2010, when he retired.
