Jae C. Choe is a Distinguished Professor of EcoScience at Ewha Womans University and the Founding President of National Institute of Ecology in Korea. After receiving his PhD from Harvard University in 1990, Jae was elected as Junior Fellow at the Michigan Society of Fellows. He then returned to his home country, Korea, to work in the School of Biological Sciences at Seoul National University. In 2006, he moved to Ewha Womans University to take the post of University Chair Professor and Director
