He holds a B.Sc. degree in Thermal Power Plants from Odessa Polytechnic University (1981) in Ukraine, a M.Sc. degree in Thermal Power Plants – from the same institution and a Ph.D. degree in Steam Generators and Reactors Design from St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (1988) in Russia. In 2014 he did a Visiting Professor internship at Washington State University with a Fulbright /CAPES Visiting Scholar scholarship. He is currently a full professor at the Federal University of Itajubá and
