Bernhard Middendorf is a Professor and the Head of the Department of Structural Materials and Construction Chemistry, Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Kassel, Kassel, Germany. He is a member of the DIN Standards Committee for Building and Civil Engineering (NABau), the National Committee for Building Lime (Sp CEN/TC 51/WG 11), the scientific advisory board of the Research Association Lime-Sand (Forschungsver-einigung Kalk-Sand eV), and the Chairman of the Quality Committee of the Federal Association of Liquid Soil (Bundesqualitätsgemein-schaft Flüssigboden e.V). He has also been appointed Vice Dean of his school and has a number of patents to his credit. His main area of research are sustainable binders, admixtures, and ultra-high-performance concrete.
