Audrey Kobayashi is a native of British Columbia, with a B.A. (1976) and M.A. (1978) from the University of British Columbia, and a PhD (1983) at UCLA, and PhD research study (Monbusho Scholarship) at the University of Kyoto (1980-1982); taught in Geography and East Asian Studies at McGill University (1983-1994), then Queen’s University, initially as Director of the Institute of Women’s Studies (1994-1999) and thereafter as Professor of Geography; appointed Queen’s Research Chair in 2005;
