This book systematically explains the theoretical framework of Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) for traction power substations in high-speed railways, focusing on PHM concepts and development. This ensures that the traction power supply system operates efficiently, minimizing failures. Corresponding maintenance strategies are formulated based on evaluation results, enhancing the safe and reliable operation of the system in terms of various aspects such as reliability and economy, etc.

Zhengyou He received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Computational Mechanics, in Chongqing University, Chongqing, China, in 1992 and 1995, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering in Southwest Jiaotong University, Chengdu, China, in 2001. Currently, he is the vice president of Southwest Jiaotong University, Chengdu, China. His research interests include signal processing, fault diagnosis and reliability analysis in power systems and high-speed railway traction power supply system.
