Qi Wang’s research focuses on mechanisms of surrounding rock failure, the theory of underground engineering with complex conditions and the other related studies, including confined concrete support and fabricated mechanized construction, high-strength, bolt-grouting support, the measurement and evaluation of the rock mass with drilling. His findings have led to improved safety and advances in underground engineering construction, promoted further development of the support technologies in underground engineering, and provided significant economic and social benefits.
