This monograph reimagines Matthew 12:15–32, moving beyond traditional Christological interpretations to uncover the vibrant and often neglected role of the Spirit. Through integrated intertextual approach—which weaves together authorial purpose, textual depth, and interpretive innovation—the author unveils how Matthew’s vision of the Spirit is deeply anchored in Old Testament traditions yet dynamically shaped by the cultural and theological milieu of its era. This exploration not only enriches one’s understanding of Matthew’s Gospel but also brings to light the Spirit’s profound and diverse roles in Matthew: as a bridge-builder fostering inclusive communities like the Matthean community, a wellspring of divine authority, a creative and life-giving power, a champion of justice, and a molder of collective identity. In a divided world, the Spirit emerges as a unifying and justice-driven force, offering a timely and transformative vision for social and theological challenges. Lian Muan Kham Suante is an emerging biblical scholar from India who obtained all his theological degrees from the Senate of Serampore College, India. He is a short-term research scholarship awardee at the Missionsakademie, Hamburg University, Germany. His doctoral research examines the role of pneumatology in Matthew 12:15–32. The author has written a number of articles in Zomi (Tedim-Chin) and English. Currently, he teaches New Testament and biblical Greek at Allahabad Bible Seminary, Prayagraj, India, and lives with his wife, Esther H. Malsawmtluangi, and their son, David Dal Mung Suante.
