Professor Maneesh Bhatia has been a consultant Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon at University Hospitals Leicester since 2009. He is a Professor at DeMontfort Univerity, Leicester and Associate Professor at the University of Leicester.He is the founder and director of British European Orthopaedic Foot Ankle Academy (BEOFAA) that trains Orthopaedic surgeons across the globe. He is the council member of European Foot Ankle Society (EFAS) and is currently serving in the scientific and education committees of EFAS and British Orthopaedic Foot Ankle Society (BOFAS).and is heavily involved in the fields of education, training and research.

 He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and written three books. One of his books received the prestigious British Medical Association (BMA) Best book award in 2021.He has also served as a senior examiner of the Joint Committee on Intercollegiate Examination and acted as a Specialist advisor to the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR).
