Geoffrey A. Baker earned Bachelors degrees in English Literature and French Studies from Brigham Young University before going on to study at the Freie Universität in Berlin and Rutgers University, where he received his PhD in Comparative Literature in 2006. Following nine years teaching at the California State University's Chico campus, he moved to Singapore to join the faculty at Yale-NUS College, where he also served as Head of Study for the Literature program. He is Associate Professor in the Department of English, Linguistics and Theatre Studies at the National University of Singapore.
