Atara Isaacson (PhD) is a tenured lecturer in the Department of Music and the Faculty of Education at Bar-Ilan University, Israel. She heads the teaching certificate programme in music and doctoral programme in music education. Dr. Isaacson is an interdisciplinary researcher with three interconnected areas of interest and research: education, music education, and musicology. In the field of education, Dr. Isaacson has conducted extensive research on teacher-student relationships, with a focus on innovative and alternative teaching methods. Her work includes the development of creative thinking in education and the arts. In the field of music education, Dr. Isaacson has pioneered special methods for guided listening and has played a significant role in establishing curriculum for music majors. In the field of musicology, she engages in narrative musicological research, particularly focusing on genres from the 19th century. She has developed a synergistic approach that integrates these three fields, creating a holistic model that combines knowledge, experience, research, and creativity.
